GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A West Michigan funeral home hopes to raise awareness on the dangers of texting while driving by launching a social media campaign that shows what they know best: Death

Cook Funeral Home will debut its #idrivetextfree campaign at the Grandville High School football game against Jenison at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28. The mortuary will show a nearly three-minute video and hand out #idrivetextfree T-shirts and wristbands to spread the word about the risk involved with texting.

“Sadly, we see a lot of young people come through the funeral home,” said Bob Kreter, Cook’s marketing manager. “When you hear of teenagers dying from texting while driving, it’s horrible.”
